LIHEAP Continues to Help Pennsylvania Families
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) remains a vital resource for families in Lavelle and across Pennsylvania who need extra support with home heating bills. For the 2025–2026 season, applications will be accepted from December 3, 2025, through April 10, 2026.
Income Limits and Available Grants for the Upcoming Season
Pennsylvania’s plan for LIHEAP includes cash grants from $200 to $1,000 and crisis grants between $25 and $1,000, depending on household details. To qualify, your income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines for 2025:
- 1 person: $23,475
- 2 people: $31,725
- 3 people: $39,975
- 4 people: $48,225
- 5 people: $56,475
- 6 people: $64,725
- 7 people: $72,975
- 8 people: $81,225
- Each additional person: add $8,250
Who Qualifies for LIHEAP?
If you pay for your own heating in Sugarloaf—either directly or as part of your rent—and your household meets the income guidelines, you may be eligible for LIHEAP. Applicants must live in Pennsylvania and provide documentation such as recent income statements and a current heating bill.
Applying for LIHEAP This Year
If you’re in Junedale or anywhere in the region, you can apply for LIHEAP in any of these ways:
- Online: Use the COMPASS system to submit your application electronically.
- By Mail or In Person: Download a paper application, fill it out, and return it to your local County Assistance Office (CAO).
When applying, make sure to include:
- A recent heating bill
- Proof of income for all household members
